Mogs Morgan
This is Mogs Morgan.... He is a musician and we met him on the streets of Nottingham. He was playing a cool number on his tenor sax outside Marks and Spencer and he very kindly agreed to a documentary film being made of him.
We first went along to his studio armed with 3 cameras a lighting kit and sound equipment. The result was a rather stiff and static film. The look of the scene was good but the whole film was wooden.
We asked him if he would allow us to re-take some of the footage and went to his studio again. It was a little easier the second time as we knew what the location had to offer. We were able to plan the shots and the storyboarding workshops have paid off. We are now in the process of editing the film for inclusion in the critique we students are organising to be shown at Broadway on the 11th April.
This project is a great way to practice the skills I need, directing, lighting, editing and has helped me to hone my interview technique.
